From the earlier days where people would need to drive for miles to the nearest big town to get one specific product or ingredient, to today, things are totally different. Nowadays, you can get everything that you need in one single location: online!

By using an online shopping site in the Philippines, everything is delivered to you and taken right to your doorstep. With the help of this innovation, hours lost from your valuable time doing shopping become a thing of the past. It’s so much easier to just smash your fingers off the keyboard and find the items that you need. After all, if you don’t need to leave the house, why would you?

This is why sites such as Promall Philippines have become so popular across the country. By removing the need for you to put up with the time expenditure of heading into town and surfing through store after store, you can enjoy a much more simplistic, stress-free shopping experience. It’s why so many people are so happy to do their shopping at home at night, rather than have to head on down to the store and get what they need.

Sure, some people would probably prefer to go back to the ‘old days’ when we could pick up whatever we wanted from the store. Those days are gone, and it might just be time to accept that for those who see the value in shopping the ‘old’ way, while you can still easily do so, there’s nothing wrong with using the power of online shopping to secure the items you’re looking for without travelling.

Reasons Why Consumers Like to Shop Online

Now, there are numerous reasons why someone might choose to go and shop online. You might be wondering why you shouldn’t just take a stroll down to the market and buy the items yourself. You should also be wondering why you shouldn’t just pay for it all online, too, right?

Well, let’s take a look at some of the main reasons why consumers today like to shop online instead of going down the more arduous, challenging route. Let’s take a look at just some of the factors why shopping online is so popular today.

· Simplicity and Convenience. Without a doubt, the main reason why most people choose to shop online is quite simple: convenience. If you choose to go to the Internet to do all of your shopping it becomes easier to get the shopping done. You simply know what you are looking for, and you can see the full qualities involved. No credit card, no problem! With online shopping cash on delivery (COD), you don’t have to worry about online frauds.

· Consumer-Friendly Prices. Another popular reason for shopping online is quite simple – cost. You can get better variety of cost online because people are more likely to have competition. In a local context, most people have just one competitor; maybe even none. You can help them to get around that problem by helping them to see the rich quality of cost that is available online, making sure you are always buying from sources and locations that you can trust.

· Variety of Choice. When searching locally for good gifts and items for yourself, you can often find yourself frustrated and stonewalled with the limitation around you. This helps you to get a better variety of choice, making sure you can enjoy a much more simplistic form of selection. With much more variety to pick from online store in the Philippines, it becomes much easier for you to find goods that you can feel comfortable paying for. It’s nice to find variety, and it’s made so much simpler to achieve.

· Miscellaneous Expense. You might be worried about the overall cost of your shopping trip. Add in the cost of your travel/petrol and then add in the cost of getting around and it can become quite hard to justify going for a normal shopping trip. With the power of the web, your only expense is time and shipping costs. You will find that even a large shipping fee will be far less than one would spend travelling from one location to the next by bus, train, car or taxi.

· Stress-Free Shopping. Like many people, you might not like being out in public. That’s not a thing to be ashamed of or worried about; some people just lack social comfort in such an environment. To help you get around that feeling, you can turn to online shopping in Manila. This helps to remove the stress of being in crowded areas, fighting with other people there to try and get the best deals on the market

This helps to avoid these kinds of negative and uncomfortable situations, and will make it much easier for you to get the help that you need whilst suitably reducing stress levels along the way.

Why Most People Prefer Cash on Delivery?

There are multiple reasons why someone might prefer to use cash on delivery. For instance, most people have issues with online payments. They find it hard to make online payments as many people tend to lack the abilities to shop with online banking. Add in the fact that you’re exposing your hard-earned money to certain risk like online fraud, identity theft, and the likes.

Paying for items on certain locations with limited online banking as well as using global payment apps such as PayPal is not always available. If you are someone who cannot use the online shopping facilities to make payment, solutions such as Promall allow for easier cash on delivery instead.

This allows for you to use a system that many people prefer: to pay for your shopping when it arrives in cash from your favorite online selling site in the Philippines. This is much easier to handle as it allows for an easier understanding of the costs involved. Out of sight, out of mind is a common problem in the banking industry. If you were to choose to use cash on delivery, then you know what you have in your hand and what you have left when you pay for it.

If you use an online banking system to pay for items, you can quickly overestimate how much money you have left. You need to look all the time you have to make sure you are 100% ready to make the payments that are being asked of you. This is a lot harder to do than many people think and it causes a lot of people consternation when it comes to managing their money. This is why so many people in the Philippines prefer to pay with cash on delivery instead of using an online banking system.

You also have the simple problem revolving around the importance of security. When you use online shopping sites with cash on delivery, you know that the money is going to the person and that you know the transaction is 100% complete. If you shop online, any manner of problems can take place on the other end and make it impossible for the payment to go through; leaving you with a debt to pay that you did not know that you had.

This is a major problem and puts many people off paying for things online. Until the system is more secure and rigid, people are rightfully worried about using any kind of online payment system. If you are in a similar frame of mind, you’ll find that cash on delivery is the happy compromise that you can take into.

This is very important for many reasons, not least the fact it makes it so much simpler for you to stay in total control and understanding the challenges involved. If you use this correctly, you can make a wholesale change to the way that you think about how you do your shopping.

You don’t need to pay for everything bought online using online payment. With the help of Promall, providing one of the best online shopping experience in the Philippines, you can set up payment in a much easier and more simplistic manner than expected!

Brick and Mortar Vs E-Commerce Stores: Where Should I Shop?

With so many options to choose from, whether you choose brick and mortar or e-commerce store, is an entirely personal choice. However, don’t let anyone tell you that the brick and mortar industry is dying out, it’s nowhere near that point in human history yet.

Instead, you should pay attention to what the difference is between both forms of shopping. For example, buying in a brick and mortar store is still very commonplace and there will come a time when it is the right choice, i.e., if the travel distance is not excessive and you wish to simply get out of the house for a short while, this makes perfect sense. Why buy something online and wait for delivery when it would be quicker to go yourself?

Take this into consideration – The idea that just because you can buy online does not mean that you have to buy online. If you would like to get around this issue, we think it’s important to note that using brick and mortar stores makes obvious sense if you would like to find something immediately or that you know exactly what you are going for in that particular store or shopping location. Nonetheless, accessible and cheap online shopping might soon take over the traditional brick and mortar.

However, there is a clear distinction between shopping online and shopping offline. If you were to go out to a store and start shopping – just browsing, searching for inspiration – you would likely come back with very little. You often find that other things take over the mind and you spend more time window shopping for things you cannot afford rather than buying useful items you can actually make use of.

This is a common issue and one that you will have certainly faced at one stage on your own. However, with the help of online shopping, you don’t need to waste hours travelling around. You simply use the search function to look for what you need, find it, and order it. It really is that simple. The Internet helps to remove the challenge of going for brick and mortar shopping trips.

Essentially, if you know what you are looking for or you are looking for something locally specific, shop local. If you have the time to kill, shop local. If you need to do any kind of browsing, searching for inspiration or to find something that isn’t immediately available locally, then it only makes sense to go and look at online stores in the Philippines with cash on delivery.

Never limit yourself to the brick and mortar or the online options only: with both, you can make it much easier to find whatever products you could possibly need in the Philippines. Done right, this removes much of the consternation over choosing when & where to shop!

Conclusion

As you can imagine, there’s a definitive balance to be found within the world of commerce. If you prefer to do your shopping in your own time and don’t like having to set aside a full day to go and do so, then it makes obvious sense to want to spend your time dealing with online shopping in the Philippines.

If you prefer to do your shopping at your own leisure and pick up those few local items, then by all means choose brick and mortar. For the majority of shopping needs today, these problems are a thing of the past: today, it’s much easier to find the shopping items that you need online.

Add in the fact that you don’t need to waste hours travelling or spend all of that time searching for solutions, and it soon becomes much easier for you to plan out and prepare for the challenges of the day ahead.

Keeping that in mind, you should begin to find it much easier to put together the perfect kind of platform. Now, what will you choose the next time you decide to go shopping? Will you go into town all-day for that one item? Or will you choose simplicity instead with the help of online shopping sites in the Philippines?

Online Shopping in the Philippines

As technology continues to make a significant impact on people’s lives, e-commerce, particularly online shopping has become a must for every entrepreneur out there who wants their business to survive in the long run. Nowadays, this activity is no longer just an option for companies that may or may not choose to consider. Online shopping has now firmly established itself as a business strategy that needs to be implemented to capture a bigger market and to make life easier for your customers.

With the continued rise of smartphone users in the Philippines, the number of consumers who shop online has gradually increased in number as well. Having an Internet penetration rate of 40%, e-commerce engagement in the Philippines is steadily growing compared to its neighboring countries. Surprisingly, despite the low percentage of active credit card holders who shop on their desktop, everything becomes literally one click away due to the convenience of smartphones.

Online shopping in the Philippines is turning to become the new normal as consumers choose this alternative due to the availability of wide variety of goods and services, reasonable pricing, and consumer-friendly delivery options, which makes the whole method much simpler compared to the traditional way of shopping. Gone are the days that e-commerce companies would place excessive overhead cost to their goods to justify the convenience that they are providing to consumers.

Compared to a year ago, research has shown that there are more active online shoppers right now who believes that their spending habit has something to do with the fact that they have an easy access to their credit card. Without a doubt, this payment technology, together with the help of other platforms like PayPal and Bitcoin has made things so much easier not just to consumers, but to entrepreneurs as well.

What is Online Shopping?

Online shopping is a type of e-commerce that lets consumers to directly purchase goods and services from a manufacturer, retailer, and service provider through the help of an Internet using a web browser from any devices such as desktop, tablet, and smartphone. Simply put, if you choose to shop online instead of the traditional brick and mortar (physical) store, it’s considered online shopping.

Before e-commerce websites became famous, consumers find a product of interest through visiting the website of the business directly or by searching among alternative vendors with the use of shopping search engine (also called comparison shopping website), which shows a detailed comparison of product and service’s pricing, availability, and other specifications from different retailers that utilizes e-commerce to promote their business.

There are two types of online stores that cater to an entirely different market, businesses and consumers. First, the business-to-business (B2B) online shop, an e-commerce store that enables one business to purchase directly from another business through the Internet. This concept allows local manufacturers and suppliers to market their business worldwide. On the other hand, SMEs and startups can now choose from a wide variety of vendors all over the world to supply them with the necessary goods that their business needs to operate their business. A good example of this kind of business model is Alibaba, the biggest online B2B marketplace globally.

The other type of online store is called business-to-consumer (B2C), which primarily caters to the end users where the products and services are being used personally and not for business purposes. The primary purpose of an online shop is to imitate the physical similarities of purchasing at a regular brick and mortar shop or shopping center. The best example of a B2C business model is Amazon, the largest B2C online store in the world. In Asia, specifically in the Southeast, there's Lazada, the biggest product-based online shop in the region. In terms of service-based online shop, you can find GrabTaxi, labeled as the biggest transportation booking application in Southeast Asia.

What are the Advantages of Online Shopping?

Due to the numerous benefits an online store provides, the number of people who prefer this activity over traditional shopping keeps on increasing. In fact, there are some people who even developed online shopping addiction, an overwhelming desire to purchase. Some people may see it as an undesirable aspect of this business model, but you may also look at the bright side in terms of how they have simplified such activity.

A simple rule that online retailers follow is to know what the consumers want and play to it. Therefore, the success of an online store largely depends upon your consumer’s perception of your business. If an e-commerce website can provide the needs of people and they can be assured that they can depend on your business consistently, then most likely, you’ll be able to capture a good market share in your industry.

With online shopping, consumers significantly benefit from the never-ending competition between online retailers. Here you’ll find brilliant ways to save money by having irresistible deals all the time, which allows an online window shopping to become an actual shopping experience. Due to the high cost of maintaining a regular brick and mortar store (i.e., rent, staff salary, and utilities), they may find it difficult to compete with an e-commerce store in terms of pricing.

Consumers can shop over the Internet from a worldwide variety of a specific product. When you buy online, it makes everything just an order away. You no longer need to go from one store to another, and it’s not like every product that you want is available in a single vicinity like a mall. Sometimes, you must go to different locations, different cities just to compare prices. Doing everything the old ways are such a laborious exercise for consumers.

Why Do Online Shopping?

There’s nothing quite like the experience of placing an order online, and while shopping over the Internet does have some inconveniences, the benefits far outweigh it. There are so many reasons people are getting hooked with online shopping, from avoiding unreasonable parking fees to discreet purchases, it only proves that this will be the trend in the future in terms of how retail businesses will operate.

Here are several online shopping benefits and why it’s so advantageous to consumers:

Convenience

In comparison to a physical store with fixed operating hours, consumers can freely choose any time of the day to do their online shopping in the Philippines . This is especially ideal for people who are too busy during the day with their work and only gets to do their shopping at night. If you have Internet, you’ll be able to do your shopping, anytime and anywhere. You can even shop while doing number 2 with the use of your mobile phone. By the time you’re done using the toilet, you’ve finished as well ordering from your trusted website.

It’s also suitable for moms with small kids where leaving the house is not even an option, elderlies and persons with disabilities who don’t have anyone to accompany them outside – for these people, online shop is a Godsent. For some, simply avoiding crowded places where there’s no assurance that you’ll be able to find what you’re looking for allows them to save time, which they can use to do much important things and makes their day more productive.

Access to Consumer Review

For more informed purchases, having access to customer reviews are one way to guarantee that you’ll get your money’s worth. Comparing similar items in terms of price and specifications are no longer enough nowadays, the reputation of the seller must always be taken into consideration. For people who are doing their shopping in an actual physical store, there’s almost no way that a consumer could be informed about the quality of a specific product.

A sales clerk may be able to answer your questions, but it will only account for a single opinion and may not best describe the view of most consumers who have tried the product. Out of all the benefits of e-commerce in the Philippines, consumer review has paved the way to establish the credibility of this industry and to establish its hold in the market. According to online shoppers, reading consumer reviews is one of the most important reasons they choose to shop online. In other words, if you want people to buy from your business, you have to show them that others trust your products.

Better Prices

Most shoppers use a combination of online and traditional shopping where they visit a physical store to choose exactly what they want and then purchase online for better pricing. It’s ideal for products under clothing category, where the buyer wants to feel, touch, and fit the product before buying it. Also, many online shops offer discount coupons and rebates to gain customer loyalty. If you’re patient enough to check online, you’ll be able to find “deals of the day,” where they post certain products with huge markdowns that are almost impossible to be matched by competitors.

Compared to traditional retail stores, you can find better prices from online stores as products come to you directly from the manufacturer without middlemen involved. On the other hand, if you happen to encounter online retail stores, the sheer volume of online sellers that carries the same product means that they are willing to lower their price since they do not pay store rent and staff salary expense every month.

Infinite Choice

Having limited shelf space in brick and mortar stores, it means that the variety of products that they are selling is limited as well. Have you ever been to a store of your favorite brand only to find out that they are not carrying the product that you’ve seen from their e-commerce site?

With online stores, you’ll be able to find a wide selection of products of the same specifications from multiple brands in the comfort of your home. Plus, it gives you a boost in confidence knowing that the item you’re using cannot be found at your local store. Especially when it comes to luxury items, these brands do not just put up stores anywhere, they only choose locations that are considered upscale. Such being the case, people who live far from these high-end stores are left with no other choice but to have delivered to them.

Easier Price Comparison

For consumers, affordability becomes the deciding factor when doing a purchase. It may not be the ideal thing to do, but when the budget comes into play, it becomes the most important aspect when shopping. When you simply just want to check the price of a certain product (e.g., furniture and appliances) that you intend to buy in the future, but you don’t have any idea how much you need to save to buy it, then the simplest way of doing it is to browse online.

You may even do some spreadsheet price comparison where the cost of the items that you have canvassed are listed down in a detailed manner based on price, brand, online store, and product review. It allows you to become a responsible buyer and avoid being pressured by a sales clerk whose job is to convince you to buy their product.

Nowadays, some websites are now also offering online shopping for grocery items such as meats, fruits and vegetables, and bread. It may be on the more expensive side as these products are perishable, but no one can deny that this is a leap forward from the usual online selling experience.

As one would expect, online shopping has caught the attention of cybercriminals who are determined to take advantage of the situation and exploit innocent consumers. Consumers need to be more vigilant and take precautionary measures when doing online transactions.

When you happen to come across a legitimately unbelievable offer and it makes you question its authenticity, you must consider certain factors about the e-commerce site in question. You may check for its reputation first through social media, whether previous consumers are satisfied or not with their products. Always remember, if it’s too good to be true, it probably is!

  • Brake Pads. The brake pads will have to be repaired and replaced on a regular basis. If they become any thinner than 2mm then they are absolutely in need of replacement. • Spend some time getting used to the fit as the fit is the most important part of the whole process. Ensure that no gaps exist whatsoever between the pads, they should sit directly, flush with your cheeks. You want it to be like a pair of new shoes; fitted now, maybe even ‘too’ fitted as over time it will begin to pad down and thus fits you perfectly. Check where the neck roll ends. It should be making contact with the skin. Ensure that it sits on top of your head without movement – rotate from side-to-side and if it moves, change sizes.

Based on studies, feet and ankles are more fragile than people think they are. Cover your feet with boots made of leather and free from laces or materials that can get caught in between the brake levers or any other motorcycle parts around the engine area. The boots should not cramp your feet or make you feel uncomfortable.

It's important to know that these motorcycle gears can keep up with the changing weather and temperature, the speed and all other biological and environmental components that are often taken for granted. All these protective gears can save your life. They can prevent the severity of the damage especially the fractures, cuts, and joint injury by protecting and supporting the most exposed parts of the body in case there's an accident. Being the smart and compliant driver can bring you to farther places. Motorcycle Helmet Buyer's Guide: Types of Motorcycle Helmet

Motorcycle riding is one of the most thrilling experiences a person can do. But the fun part must be complemented by safety. In fact, safety should always be the priority. Aside from ensuring that your motorcycle is running smooth, you should invest in safety motorcycle gears, the most important of which is the helmet. This gear is meant to protect the head from injury in an event of a crash. It can also offer such features as noise-proof, waterproof, anti-glare, anti-fog, ventilation, even mp3 player and Bluetooth speakers! Some of these are very nifty features that will make riding even more exciting.

Now, if you are out looking to buy a helmet and you want to know which one to buy, you should first know the types of helmets. Basically, they are differentiated by the coverage of protection it provides - how much of the head is protected. Let us go over them one by one.

1. Full Face Type

This type covers the entire head - top, sides, front and back. Generally, motorcycle helmets are designed for safety and comfort. The hard outer shell is mostly made of lightweight but sturdy composite that can withstand huge impacts. The insides are lined with shock-absorbent material and over it, a removable padding or comfort lining. With the full face type, the face is protected by a face shield/visor - a transparent material that allows the rider to see through the viewing port. The chin bar covers the lower part of the face. Since the entire head is covered, this helmet type allows for a quiet ride since it blocks out most of the wind and traffic noise, which can be annoying and distracting. Almost all full face helmets have vents to let air in and manage the head build-up, particularly when riding under the sun. Most motorcycle enthusiast says that this is the safest type of helmet as it offers full coverage and protection.

2. Modular Type

This type is much like the full face in terms of head coverage, except for the fact that the chin bar is a module that can be flipped up, thus it is also called the flip-up type. This is popular with riders who find the immovable chin bar of the full face type helmet to be too cumbersome, especially when putting it on or taking it off. With the modular type, at a click of a button, the chin bar can slide up onto the top of the helmet and it converts to an open face helmet. While it is useful when you are grabbing a quick bite since you do not have to take off the helmet, it is not advisable to ride with the chin bar up because this can cause wind drag and pose safety risks for the rider. The protection the modular type offers is not as much as the full face since the chin bar is movable as opposed to an immovable solid structure. This helmet allows the use of Bluetooth communication or microphone, which are vital motorcycle accessories nowadays.

3. Open Face Type

The open face type provides protection to the head except for the face. This type is popular to those who want to feel the wind on their face and also have an unobstructed view of the road ahead. This type usually does not have face protection so you have to buy glasses or motorcycle goggles separately. Some come with a visor that can be pulled down when needed but since the lower face is open, they do not offer much protection from dirt or debris. Just like any vital motorcycle parts, you only want the best and the safest one to use. Same thing goes with your helmet, an open face might provide some type of protection, but at the end of the day, you may be better off using full face or modular helmet.

4. Half Helmet Type

This type offers the least protection among all the types of helmets since it protects only the top half of the head. It is the preferred type for those who want a vintage look. Helmets of this type are very light and allow unimpeded airflow. To protect the face, a rider can wear goggles and bandanas. But come to think of it, would you even consider using only half motorcycle tires? If the answer is no, then you may want to stay away from using a half helmet as well.

Whatever your preference may be, ensure that the helmet you choose complies with safety standards. Although the helmet can add aesthetic value to your whole riding look, it is a necessary safety gear every rider must have. Buy from reputable retailers/distributors and do not compromise safety by buying cheap ones that may not be able to do what they are supposed to do if an accident happens.

What’s the Difference Between Motorcycles and Scooters?

What’s the Difference Between Motorcycles and Scooters?

Riding motorcycles make for a fun adventure-filled experience. Whether you want a peaceful cruise on the countryside road or on a busy city street, the thrill that a motorcycle can bring is just incomparable. The overwhelming feeling of freedom and excitement once you have placed your motorcycle helmet and you start stepping on the pedal can be so addictive that many become enthusiasts just after a few rides. Some have likely fallen in love with motorcycles, and some with scooters. Perhaps you get the idea that these two are distinctly different from each other. You might say that scooters are smaller than motorcycles. In a way, you are correct; just by looking at a bike, you can easily say if it is a scooter or a motorcycle. But how different are they really?

Build Design

Motorcycles are usually designed for the rider to sit astride the engine because it is mounted in the middle of the frame. The gas tank is placed on top of the engine and is right in front of the rider. In contrast, a scooter engine is located below and to the rear of the frame. Specifically, it is part of the rear suspension that is why when the scooter’s rear wheel moves up and down, the suspension and the whole engine moves with it. Because the engine is located below and to the rear, a scooter has the luxury of having leg space between the rider and the front wheel and handle bars, so the rider can actually be sitting and not straddling. Motorcycle tires and rims are also bigger compared to that of a scooter.

Engine Size

It was mentioned earlier that scooters are smaller than motorcycles, and that generally holds true when we are talking about engine size. Engine size is usually measured in terms of displacement and is expressed in cubic centimeters (cc). This is what is referred to when a motorcycle engine is said to be 50 cc, 250 cc, etc. Suffice it to say, for simplicity of explanation, that the displacement is calculated considering the bore (diameter of the cylinder), stroke (distance traveled by the piston in the cylinder), and the number of cylinders. Most gas powered engines produce power by combustion of a mixture of fuel and air. The bigger the displacement, the more fuel and air used for combustion. Bigger combustion, more power. So, bigger engines produce more power. Scooter engines range from 50 cc to 150 cc, although some modern scooters come in 250 cc. Motorcycle engines, on the other hand, range from 125 cc to 2,000 cc.

Fuel Consumption

Since scooters have smaller engines, they are significantly more fuel efficient than motorcycles. So with a scooter, you can get more miles to your gallon of gas. It’s safe to say that no amount of motorcycle accessories can help your bike save gas like a scooter, but it’s also good to note that some high-powered scooters also consume a high amount of fuel.

Speed and Power

Because motorcycle engines are bigger and consume more fuel, they produce more power and allow for better acceleration. Some modern scooters have an engine capacity of 250 cc but they do not handle as well as a motorcycle at high speeds because of their lightweight design.

Maneuverability and Stability

A scooter may be less powerful and slower than a motorcycle but because of its smaller wheelbase, it allows for precise turning and easy maneuvering. It is most stable at low speeds. This is why scooters are not allowed on certain freeways and expressways. A motorcycle, on the other hand, has a longer wheelbase, which can make handling and turning at slow speeds very tricky. However, it is more stable at high speeds. Due to the big difference in terms of scooter and motorcycle parts, it makes these two machines unique from each other.

Looking at all these differences, we can deduce that motorcycles and scooters work best depending on where you ride. You will be better off with a scooter if you ride just within the city. It will cost you less for gas because of its smaller engine and less consumption and it will make it easier for you to navigate the busy city streets. But if your ride is mostly long and you need more speed and power, go with a motorcycle. Just make sure that wherever you go, you always bring with you some motorcycle gears and apparels to ensure a safer trip.

Motorcycle Tire 101: Types of Motorcycle Tires

Motorcycle Tire 101: Types of Motorcycle Tires

Whether you are a newbie or an experienced motorcyclist, you have to understand that tires are critical to a safe and fun ride. Worn out tires can cause annoying wobbles, and can also lessen the grip on the road, which can eventually lead to a crash. New tires can also be dangerous if they do not match your motorcycle’s specifications. Instead of improving your ride experience, they make maneuvering more difficult or cause your bike to skid when stopping. Some wear and tear can be fixed but if your tires have sustained critical damages, your riding experience and safety are compromised and you cannot just ignore them. Part of being a biker is to know when to change your motorcycle tires.

The types of motorcycle tires are distinguished by the kind of terrain they shall be used. Generally, all tires are expected to provide good grip on the road (stability) and mileage (durability). But then again, depending on the type of terrain that you plan to use your bike, the appropriate tires will always play a big factor.

Racing Tires

These are designed to do one thing, and that is to provide the best grip on a racetrack. They have fewer grooves for better traction and work best on a dry road. Their profile is usually tall because of their high arch and crown, which are meant to deliver quick steering. During turns, the side of the tires hugs the road tightly to prevent slippage. Although they are grippy, they are designed for only a few heat laps so they do not really last long. Moreover, the rubber compound of racing tires is sensitive to temperatures that they need to reach a certain heat to offer optimal grip. Just like how one of the most important motorcycle gear and apparels works, the bike gloves, proper grip to the surface of the road is highly important for tires, just like how gloves grip the bike handle.

Now, obviously, these tires are specialized and are not meant to be used somewhere else other than racetracks. If used on the road, the tall profile will not be able to give optimum maneuverability. Their surface that has few grooves will not be able to disperse water so they are not any good on wet pavement. Street riding does not also allow an opportunity to heat the tires up to activate the tire’s racing grip ability. It’s safe to say that for those people who are doing some competitive racing, tires are the most important aspect out of all the motorcycle parts.

Off-Road Tires

These tires are for dirt bikes and are meant to ride through rough terrain, trails, as well as soft dirt or mud. They usually have knobs for optimal grip. Different off-road tires focus on specific terrain types: hard, intermediate, and soft. Tires for hard terrain have shorter knobs and are arranged in a denser pattern for better traction. Tires for soft terrain have knobs that are more widely spaced for a more manageable dispersal of mud. In place of treads, these tires will often have paddles, particularly the rear tires, for it to dig through soft ground. Tires for intermediate terrain have features that take the middle ground between the first two mentioned. Their knobs are taller and are a little far apart than those of the hard terrain tires but not as tall and spread out as those of the soft terrain ones.

These tires, however, are not optimized for street riding. The knobs, while useful in rough terrain, can make for an annoying ride on the street. Traction and overall performance will definitely suffer. As a solution, tire manufacturers offer dual-sport tires that can be used for off-road riding as well as street cruising. Investing in good off-road tires is highly critical when you decide to do this hobby. It’s not like street motorcycles that you can stuff with some motorcycle accessories that will cost you some serious cash. Therefore, it gives you the financial freedom to opt for the best off-road tires to ensure your safety.

Street Bike Tires

These are designed for everyday street use. They are comfortable, versatile, reasonably durable, and they work well in dry or wet pavement. With these tires, your ride can strike a perfect balance of stability and durability on the road. The treads and grooves of these tires capably manage the water and debris on streets to ensure a good grip. Riding comfort is also optimized for these tires since the rubber compound is not too thick, hard, and heavy. But unlike racing tires that wear out easily, street bike tires provide more mileage because they are designed with hard rubber down the middle. In most cases, the street is the place where motorcycle helmets are the most important due to some outside factors that are beyond our control, so make sure to use the appropriate street bike tires and always bring your helmet.

If you are checking for new tires, do not compromise safety and performance by buying the cheapest options on the rack. Remember that having the appropriate tires for your motorcycle is key to having the safest ride and the most comfortable handling.
